It’s Pizza Time!
My kids were sooo happy to hear that we were making pizza today! Literally, their eyes LIT UP when I said they could eat pizza for lunch.
This awesome recipe request comes from Roberta and her kids. She specifically wanted a recipe for pizza crust that didn’t use yeast.
I literally make a no-yeast pizza crust almost every week! We usually do a pizza night on Fridays and this is my go-to pizza crust recipe. It is such an easy and forgiving recipe. Perfect for letting little kids help to make as well as make their own personalized pizzas. Plus, I love how quickly this recipe comes together. No more waiting for the yeast to rise!
No-Yeast Pizza Crust
This pizza crust recipe is the epitome of versatile! You can make it with almost any kind of flour. I have made it with all purpose flour, gluten free flour and whole wheat flour too. If you choose to use whole wheat flour, just decrease the amount of whole wheat flour used by approx 1/4 cup. Whole wheat flour is very absorbent, so if you forget to reduce the amount of whole wheat flour used, just add a little more liquid if the dough looks dry.
This recipe uses milk and oil as the wet ingredients. You can use almost any kind of milk or even water, but I would definitely keep using oil. The oil helps to create a very soft dough, which also makes it super easy to roll or press out to create the pizza crust shape. Any kind of oil should work for this recipe. I’ve used vegetable oil, canola oil and olive oil. I would try to use something that doesn’t have a strong flavor, so coconut oil may not be a good option (unless you like that flavor).
This pizza crust can be used for savory or sweet pizzas. I’ve used it to make cheese pizza and my fave, BBQ chicken pizza. For a cooking class I taught last year, I even used the same pizza crust recipe to make a sweet pizza! It was a fresh peach and mint pizza with a sweet cream cheese sauce and a white chocolate drizzle. So delish!
