It Starts with an Idea
When I catered the Wildflowers, Wine and Warrior Women Yoga Retreat earlier this year, I wanted to serve a bright and flavorful salad at brunch one day.
But what kind of salad do I serve? There are so many kinds of salad, and I wanted the salad to be suitable for all the attendees, no matter what their food allergies or preferences.
I was researching and thinking about different salad ideas and thought about what else I could serve at brunch. Bagels are always a crowd pleaser, I thought. My favorite kind of bagels are Everything Bagels. They are so savory and flavorful……Wait a second!
An Everything Bagel Salad!
Full of Flavor
Everything Bagels get their bold flavor from a particular seasoning, aptly called, Everything Bagel seasoning. It really adds so much amazing flavor to any dish, and I think this is a great way to add lots of interest to salads, which can often be boring.
Lots of different grocery stores started to sell Everything Bagel seasoning when it started getting super popular. But you can also make your own Everything Bagel seasoning using this recipe.
The Easiest Salad Ever
What I love about this salad is that it is so easy to put together!
You can meal prep each of the ingredients, keep each component in the fridge until you’re ready to make the salad. Then just combine the ingredients on a plate, season with Everything Bagel seasoning and your meal is served!
You can also pair this salad with your fave protein of choice. Whether it be grilled chicken breast, smoked salmon, poached eggs, beans or even tofu, this Everything Bagel salad is totally versatile. You can make it with all your favorite ingredients, exactly how you like it!
A Crowd Pleasing Salad
This salad was a big hit at the retreat! The first huge plate of salad that I made was quickly demolished so I ended up making another huge salad for the yogis. Thankfully, this is such a quick salad to throw together but still looks gorgeous and tastes even better!
I think that everyone loved how flavorful, bright and colorful this salad was. I also offered smoked salmon on the side, so that non-vegans could add the smoked salmon to their own plates.
This salad could be a meal all by itself, or it could be a great side salad at a brunch with other healthy and delicious goodies!
I hope you give this quick and easy salad a try! If you do, make sure you snap a photo and tag me at @nourish_with_renata on IG or Facebook.
