Honey Garlic Shrimp
This combination of savory and sweet will leave your tastebuds wanting more. Also, you may have many of these ingredients on hand, for example:
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined (about 16 to 20 per lb)
- Garlic cloves minced (about two or three tablespoons of it)
- Extra virgin olive oil (a couple of teaspoons)
- Honey (one tablespoon for every teaspoon of garlic).
- Salt and pepper, as desired
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and let marinate for 15 mins or even overnight. Put down aluminum foil on top of your grill pan, heat the grill pan, then cook the shrimp for a couple of minutes on each side.
Shrimp is super quick cooking protein and is the perfect accompaniment with noodles and veggies.
Many people love pork for a quick weeknight meal. It is also a super versatile protein that can be paired with many different flavors.
The term baked pork refers to a traditional Chinese dish called Dong Po Rou, or a braised pork belly. Many of my Chinese friends love this recipe but you do need a little extra time to make this flavorful dish.
You will need:
- Pork shoulder or belly (cut into chunks, about a pound)
- Soy sauce (a tablespoon)
- Rock sugar (half an ounce) or toasted brown–sugar cubes can also be used.
- Minced garlic
- Green onions
Mix the sugar and soy sauce together, ensuring the sugar dissolves completely. In a large bowl, combine the meat with half of the soy sauce mixture and let it marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Transfer the marinated pork to a baking sheet and roast until tender for about three hours. Arrange on a serving platter and set aside.
Heat oil over high heat in a wok and stir-fry the pork until slightly crispy, about six minutes. Make sure to cook it in batches so as not to overcrowd your wok. Add garlic and remaining soy sauce mixture, cook for another minute before adding a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Stir-fry continuously until the sauce is thickened. Transfer meat back into a baking sheet covered with foil, top with green onions. Bake for 25 minutes.
If all these seem a bit too much, there are many other pork recipes. This is the best baked pork tenderloin recipe. Let me know if you try it out!
Tomato Cheese Pizza
This os a delicious, easy, and quick pizza. You can prepare this by using a can of pizza sauce, one cup of mozzarella cheese, and two cups of fresh tomatoes. You’ll also need ¼ tsp salt, ½ tsp dried oregano leaves or Italian seasoning mix, garlic powder to taste, and sliced fresh basil for garnishing the dish after it is ready.
Use storebought pizza dough or pre-baked bread rounds sprayed with olive oil spray on both sides before baking at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about five minutes on each side. This step makes sure there are no soggy bottoms on your finished pizza.
Or use this easy no-yeast pizza dough instead. Feel free to add any of your fave ingredients to this pizza too!
This is an Italian salad made of fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil drizzled with oil. A drizzle of a flavorful balsamic vinegar is also a lovely extra flavor in this salad.
This salad makes a perfect summer meal when the tomatoes are at their peak in terms of flavor.
