Make Your Own Sushi!
My most recent cooking class was teaching an awesome group of women how to make sushi!
Have you ever made sushi at home before? It can seem pretty daunting – there’s so many ingredients and rolling up the sushi can really be a mess!
But with a few easy tips and tricks, the incredible ladies, shown below, were able to make a sushi roll! And I think they were actually surprised at how easy it is to make sushi at home. Really! It is easy! Plus, all the ingredients to make sushi are readily available at our local grocery store.

What I love about making sushi at home is that you can customize it to all your favorite fillings. So, if you love spicy tuna rolls but don’t like when the restaurant adds cucumber to it, you can make your own spicy tuna rolls at home without cucumber. Or maybe you want your California roll to use real crab instead of imitation crab – go ahead and do it at home! Or you could come up with your own special filling combination and give the roll a special name. The Renata Roll, anyone???
