Chocolate Nutella Mug Cake

  • 2 tbsp coconut flour
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp milk of choice e.g. almond coconut, cow
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil cooled
  • 2 tbsp raw agave could use another liquid sweetener
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 heaping tbsp of Nutella
  • Extra Nutella for drizzling on top
  • Garnishes: berries whipped cream, nuts, coconut…. The options are endless!



  1. In small bowl, whisk together coconut flour, cocoa powder and baking powder.
  2. Add egg, milk, coconut oil, agave and vanilla and mix until everything is very well combined. If the mixture looks too dry, add 1 tbsp of milk and stir well. You want a cake batter-like texture.
  3. Pour 3/4 of the mixture into a large mug, then add 1 tbsp of Nutella on top. Do not mix in. Top with the remaining cake batter and smooth over the top.
  4. Microwave on high for about 80-90 seconds, depending on how strong your microwave is. You're looking for a visibly moist cake consistency. Definitely do not overcook. There will be some carryover cooking while the cake sits for a couple minutes before eating.
  5. Top with a drizzle of Nutella and your fave garnishes!
