Cheezy Garlic Herb Popcorn

A super simple and delicious snack to eat while watching the big game!

For the Popcorn:

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

½ cup popcorn kernels

  • ½ stick butter or vegan butter if desired

For the seasoning:

  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano



  1. For the seasoning, mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Place the butter in a small saucepan on the stove top, or in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave, and melt completely.
  3. In a large pot or dutch oven with a tight fitting lid, add the vegetable oil and popcorn kernels. Put the lid on and place the pot over medium-high heat.
  4. After a few minutes, you will start to hear the popcorn kernels popping. Periodically shake the pot, while keeping the lid on. Keep cooking the popcorn until there is about 4 seconds between pops. Turn off the heat and let the popping finish. Remove the lid.
  5. Pour the popcorn into a very large bowl. Slowly pour over the butter, then sprinkle the seasoning on top. Start with 1 tbsp of seasoning. Toss the popcorn, butter and seasoning till well combined. Taste and add more butter or seasoning if desired. Serve immediately!
