Time to Detox!
If you’re looking to be healthier this year, you have to try this quick and easy 10 Minute Detox Salad!
This salad is a great example of how eating healthy can be colorful, flavorful and totally versatile.
10 Minute Detox Salad
You can make this salad with almost any vegetable you may have in your fridge. I use some staple ingredients that I always have: zucchini, yellow squash, carrot, tomatoes and kale. You may even have some leftover roasted vegetables that you can throw over a bed of kale. That would be delicious!
The benefit of using such a wide variety of colorful vegetables is that each vegetable contains a different amount and variety of vitamins and minerals, not to mention fiber and high water content as well. The key to detoxing is to make sure your body is getting lots of fiber and water, to aid your natural detoxification. Also, mindfully fueling your body with more vitamins and minerals is a great way to ensure your body is working as it should.
My New Fave
One of my favorite parts of this salad is beautiful veggie noodle shapes. I use my new obsession, this Deiss Julienne and Vegetable Peeler. Deiss sent me this peeler and I have to say, I was a little worried that this peeler would be like the other ones I have tried: flimsy and doesn’t create good veggie noodles.
