GIVEAWAY! The Home Chef's Sous Vide Cookbook
Sous Vide Made Easy!
I am super excited to review a new cookbook from Jenna Passaro called The Home Chef's Sous Vide Cookbook.
The term "sous vide" might sound like a fancy French term, but sous vide cooking is not difficult at all.
In fact, using a sous vide is a great way to make fancy-looking meals at home without all the fuss. And sous vide is actually an awesome way to meal prep too!
What is Sous Vide?
Sous vide is the cooking method that slowly poaches an ingredient that has been sealed in a vacuum-sealed bag.
Why is Sous Vide so great?
Sous vide cooks the ingredients at a slow, low temperature, which makes it incredibly tender. I also love the fact that you can set up your sous vide machine to cook at a particular temperature for a set time, and then it will turn off.
Can you meal prep with Sous Vide?
As y'all know, I love to meal prep. And I am sooo thrilled that you can meal prep with sous vide too. Having little plastic baggies of pre-cooked ingredients is perfect for those meals where you need to throw some food on plates really quickly.
The Home Chef's Sous Vide Cookbook
Jenna's cookbook covers all the different ingredients you can sous vide. From breakfast to dinner, there are a myriad of ingredients that you can sous vide to really add that special something to any meal or snack.
The chapters are divided by ingredient type, which is so helpful when trying to find a new recipe to cook.
One of my favorite chapters was the Egg chapter! In this chapter, I learned how to make soft boiled eggs with the sous vide. It was so easy and the eggs were incredibly creamy! Plus, you don' even need a vacuum sealer for this recipe. You just place the eggs carefully into the preheated water bath, and after 8 minutes, the eggs are done.
I love the photos in Jenna's book too! She has a beautiful contrast of the bright, vibrant food against the dark background.
Best of all, Jenna makes sous vide so easy! I always thought that sous vide was going to be super difficult to do. But her book showed me that it is really simple and can help you create beautiful and fancy looking meals at home.
