Creatine for Hormone Balance
Did you know that Creatine Monohydrate is actually the most researched supplement? And it has a huge potential benefit for hormone balance.
What is Creatine Monohydrate?
Creatine Monohydrate is an amino acid that the body produces to a minimal extent, about 1 gram per day. It helps with supporting cellular energy in the body such as in your brain and heart. The body uses about 2 g per day in regular body functions so we need to get some additional creatine from foods like animal proteins. In fact, research suggests that 3 to 5 grams of Creatine Monohydrate can be beneficial for a multitude of body functions including hormonal health.
5 benefits of Creatine Monohydrate for Women’s Hormone Balance
1) Exercise Performance: The most common reason for using Creatine Monohydrate as a supplement is for exercise performance. Regular use of Creatine helps to increase energy in the body and thus improve strength and exercise performance, particularly in pre-menopausal women.
2) Energy Production: Creatine Monohydrate helps to increase energy production in the body as well as support muscle storage particularly during women’s reproductive years.
3) Menstrual Cycle Health: Studies indicate that women who have at least 13 mg of Creatine Monohydrate per kg of body mass per day, have a lessened risk of menstrual cycle challenges, such as irregular periods.
4) Brain and Mood Health: Creatine Monohydrate may help to reduce PMS, specifically mood changes often observed as part of PMS before the menstruation phase.
5) Menopause: Creatine Monohydrate may help to diminish the common side effects of menopause such as muscle loss, bone density reduction and declining strength.
