It’s easy to think that healthy food has to be boring, or that all of your favorite foods have to be bad for you – but that’s not necessarily true!

In fact, you’ll find that you can totally have fun with your food, trying new things, and cooking up a storm – and still make them healthy. You just have to approach things in the right way and find a good balance. Here’s how to have fun with food AND eat healthier at the same time!

Buy Fresh Produce

For starters, one of the best things that you can do is to make sure that you’re buying fresh produce. When you buy food locally, you’re not only giving back to the local community but you’re guaranteeing goodness. When you can reduce as many processed meals as possible, you’re doing the best thing for your health.

Make your meals more exciting by trying out some new recipes! Look for some recipes of cuisines that you love and have always wanted to try at home. You could learn how to make this gyro meat recipe. Or even look at recipes that are dupes of the meals you like out in restaurants too. This can really spice things up and make cooking fun again!

Cook With Your Kids

One of the best ways to have more fun with food is the idea of cooking with your kids! Whether you love cooking or not yourself, you can have a lot of fun when everyone gets involved. And no, this doesn’t have to be a messy or complicated thing. In fact, you may find that it can be quite fun when you choose easy recipes that you can all work on together. Plus, this can be a simple way to bond with the kids and help them to eat healthier too.

My kids love to make this healthier cookie and we upped the fun by adding eyes and legs and calling them Creature Cookies!

Take A Cooking Class

If one of the reasons that you don't know what to make at mealtimes is that you don’t know how to cook, then take a cooking class! This is a fun way to take the pressure off and learn a new skill and recipe. There are lots of virtual and in person cooking classes that you can find. Cooking classes are so fun, especially when you get a few friends together and really make it an event! You'll find these cooking classes actually help you to love cooking and making fun meals.
