5 Flavorful Ways to Cook Chicken!

Bored of the Same Old Chicken Dinner?

Chicken is one of the most commonly used ingredients in the family kitchen. There are plenty of good reasons to keep some chicken in your fridge. It's one of the cheapest meats available in stores. It's fairly easy to prepare and cook. And you'd be hard-pressed to find a child who doesn't like chicken. Yet, its commonality doesn't mean chicken is a boring ingredient. On the contrary, it is incredibly versatile! Here are 5 flavorful ways to cook chicken.

Soup for You!

Chicken broth is nutritious and delicious. Using a whole chicken as part of a soup makes a flavorsome soup base. Remember to cook the chicken in water until the meat falls off the bones. Then you can discard the bones (or keep them for other recipes) and shred the flesh. There are hundreds of variations on how to best use chicken broth. But a favorite with kids is to turn the broth into a delicious spicy but not hot soup that is packed with veggie goodness. Chicken broth is also a popular base for most vegetable soups in winter, including cabbage, potato, leek, carrot, and mushroom. You can also add noodles and greens to turn it into an Asian chicken noodle soup. This is my favorite Superfood Asian Chicken Soup.

Smoked Chicken Sandwiches and Wraps

Lunchboxes can be dull, especially if you use processed ham and meat. So, this simple smoked chicken recipe will completely transform your lunches. Thinly sliced, the chicken will remain moist and flavorsome in sandwiches. You can serve it in large chunks inside a lunchbox salad or even a yummy wrap.

Sweet and Crunchy

What's your favorite TV snack? Popcorn? Chips? Cookies? Forget about those and dive into the fantastic world of dakgangjeong, the sweet crispy Korean fried chicken treat. The recipe uses small boneless chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet, and spicy sauce. You can shallow fry the chicken bites, or cook in an air fryer, and have a yummy and healthy snack in a matter of minutes. Unlike typical TV snacks, this one is rich in protein, low in fat, and full of healthy ingredients and bold flavors.

Creamy Chicken Pasta

Some days, all you want is a simple one-pot dish that is effortless and delicious. As wintertime is just around the corner, meals are becoming carb-heavier! Finding a healthier version of a satisfying carb-loaded meal is no easy task. This fabulous chicken mushroom pasta pot is creamy (but without the cream!), full of flavor, and easy to prepare. You can even throw in another serving of vegetables for good measure!

I also love this dairy free Smoked Chicken Pasta. I use a super special ingredient to give that cheesy flavor without the dairy.

Family Dinner Roast

Nothing beats the excitement of a chicken roast! Chicken roasts are the perfect Sunday lunchtime meal. They require time, attention, and a lot of love, but the reward is otherworldly. Everyone has a favorite tip, such as using beer or coke as part of the recipe. If you fancy something a little more European, try adding cider to your roast to give your chicken a unique fruity flavor. Pair with large chunks of oven-cooked potatoes, peppers, courgettes, and eggplants for a superb combination of flavors. Try massaging the chicken with cinnamon, lemon, and olive oil before baking if you fancy a Morroccan take.

This Lemon Oregano Chicken Sheet Pan meal is another fantastic and flavorful to cook your chicken.

Chicken may be common, but it's far from being boring. Hopefully, you'll enjoy these 5 flavorful ways to cook chicken and unlock your creativity to elevate your chicken meals!
